Elite Teams 7th-11th

Along with North and South teams, Crossfire will field one elite team team for grades 7th through 11th. Elite teams will consist of the top players at that grade level from our North and South programs. This team will allow our top players to compete at higher levels and increase their exposure to college coaches and recruiting publications.

  • Players interested in being considered for this team should register for and attend our regularly scheduled Team Formation/Tryouts at the North or South locations or both.
  • Participation on an elite team is optional. Meaning, if offered a spot on the elite team, the athlete has the option of accepting or declining. If the offer is declined, the player would be considered for a spot on a North or South team.

Additional Team Formation/Tryout Info

  • Players can attend as many Team Formation/Tryout sessions as they like. There are no requirements along these lines. Some players are selected for teams after the first tryout session, some after the second, and unfortunately sometimes we do not have room on our teams for all players attending the sessions.
  • We recommend attending both tryout sessions, if possible. There are no guarantees, but a player's chances of being selected for a team are probably greater if they attend both sessions.
  • Team formation is based on many factors, including performance at Team Formation/Tryout sessions, performance during the last season, and performance during previous High School, AAU, or Travel basketball seasons. Some players, based on an entire season's body of work, have earned invitations before the Team Formation/Tryout sessions to play on one of our teams.
  • Team Formation/Tryout sessions are scheduled for teams based in the South Metro (main practice site is the Hope Fieldhouse in Rosemount) and North Metro (main practice site is Maple Grove Middle School).
  • Elite team coaches will also attend these same Team Formation/Tryout sessions to evaluate players for their teams. We will not be holding separate Elite team Team Formation/Tryout sessions.

Post-Tryout Communication

After the Team Formation/Tryout sessions, our coaches or directors will reach out to parents to communicate interest or offer roster spots. This will not necessarily happen after each session; it will be done over the course of the tryout time-frame. If roster spots are no longer available at a grade level, we will communicate that to the parents of that age group.

The Crossfire Difference

  1. A faith-based program; using the game of basketball to teach Biblical principles.
  2. Skill development: Our coaches spend a minimum of 60% of their practice time on skill development and fundamentals. Our coaches do not take shortcuts in the area of skill development.
  3. Best practice facilities of any club in town.
  4. Coaches lead with positive reinforcement, blending that with accountability expectations.
  5. Multi-sport athletes welcome. If desired and doable, our athletes can play other sports.
  6. Exposure: Our teams play in the best tournaments. Many of our alumni are playing at the collegiate level. If desired, we will work to help our high school players land in college programs.
